Happy Birthday 1 Year-Old!

Can you believe it's been a year since we brought our little Eva home from the hospital?? Kyle and I kept reminiscing about when we got the news about being induced, when she was born exactly, when we brought her home, and everything along the way. What an incredible gift she was then and has been ever since! We are so grateful to have her in our family.

Eva is becoming more of a little girl everyday. She loves to put on my necklaces and bracelets. She asks me to put bows and headbands in her hair. (Granted she pulls them right off, but then asks to have them put back on.) She got new shoes for her birthday and now asks to have them on anytime she sees them. It's a lot of fun.

She is doing so many more things now too. She walks EVERYWHERE. She loves to be chased. She loves books. (This is nothing new, but it's still so much fun for me to see. I love when she comes to me with a book to read to her.) She dances and sings. She plays the piano with me. When I sing to her, she holds her hands together and rocks them back and forth. (I started showing her actions I used to teach the Primary kids "Picture a Christmas" and ever since she does this same action for singing.) She loves the dog and still gets so excited to see her every morning. She has two bottom teeth coming in to join her two top teeth. She loves anything electronic and with buttons -- she plays with the computer, with phones, with the camera, and with the tv remotes. She has reached 20 lbs. (I forgot the rest of her measurements unfortunately. But she is right on with her growth charts.) She waves, she claps, she blows kisses (my favorite!), she honks noses, she knows where eyes are, she will put her finger in her nose to make us laugh, she loves to play "Timber" on the bed, she gets a kick out of wrestling with her daddy (which basically consists of her falling on top of Kyle and him rolling her around). As for words, she says "woof" when she hears a dog bark and she says "hi dah" when she sees the dog. We're working on her saying mommy and daddy. ;)

Here are some pictures from her special day.

The day started with pumpkin pie spiced waffles.

The younger kids got to decorate their own cupcakes.

Eva's cousin Hannah.

Cousin Gabby showing her cupcake creation.

Eva's cousin Faithe and her yummy cupcake.

Neighbors and friends Rell and Abby get help from their mom Jenn.

Eva started opening her presents.

Her cousin Isaac was right there to help.

But she lost interest quickly, so Dad opened her presents for her.

She came back occasionally to say hi and see how he was doing.

Getting ready for cake.

She was done pretty quickly with the cake.
I don't think she liked the messiness/stickiness of the frosting.

So she did what she does best when she's done eating...
throw it on the floor.

Happy Birthday Eva!
We love you!
