A 1-year-old and a 5-month-old

G turned 1 on 5/26. I hoped that maybe by some miracle that day would mean she would be more calm and not so mouthy... Well, still hoping. Maybe one day. Anyway, here are some photos of her.

And here are some photos of our Little Miss who has grown up so fast we can't believe it! (Ok, so maybe just I can't believe it. Kyle's response to that is, "Well what did you expect?" Haha.) So here is our 5-month-old little baby who changes every week- no, every DAY! - and what she's up to now.

-She smiles the biggest, sweetest, melt-your-heart smile when she wakes up and we go to get her.
-She still loves to look at herself in the mirror.
-She talks up a storm. Boy do I wish I could know what grand stories she is telling us.
-She giggles so hard when we tickle her. It makes me laugh out loud, which in turn makes her laugh more. And the cycle continues.
-She is sitting up on her own now. She can't get herself up yet though, so when she reaches for a toy while sitting and falls over, aka face plants into the toy or ground, she just rolls onto her back and smiles up at me.
-She rolls immediately onto her back when we put her on her tummy. Hopefully this doesn't deter her from crawling.
-She rolls onto her tummy from her back but only when she is reaching for something or sometimes when she is sleeping.
-She can pick things up really well now and transfer it from one hand to the other.
-She puts everything in her mouth. Her favorite thing to chew on, though, is her own hand. She is teething hard core.
-She will pick up her pacifier and put it in her mouth. Although, she's not always successful with putting the right end in her mouth. But she has discovered the hard plastic is fun to chomp on.
-She likes to help hold her bottle when she's eating. She can almost hold it up on her own.
-She is starting to actually enjoy bath time.
-She loves the dog. She laughs when she sees her and smiles at her. She likes it when G licks her hands...the only one in our family that actually likes that. And even though I try to get G to stop, Eva sticks her hands out for more. She loves to pet G. We think they'll be good friends as Eva gets older.
-She scoots around a lot on her back. I try to put her towards the bottom of her crib because I know she'll need the room. When we go to get her, she almost always has her head up against the headboard.
-She loves to read books. Well, I know she likes to look at the pictures. But she really just likes to turn the pages.
-She loves to see other babies and little kids. She smiles so big and giggles when she looks at kids. She especially gets excited when she sees her friend Rell. She talks up a storm when she sees him.

We just love this little girl!

Hope from Protandim

So Kyle and I are super excited to be a part of the company LifeVantage and be distributors of Protandim. We are excited for the business opportunity, and now even more excited about what Protandim does! I'll explain what we are super excited for a little further down. First, let me set up the reason for excitement.

Last night, LifeVantage (LVN) held a Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) call that featured Dr. David Perlmutter, a leading neurologist who treats patients who have degenerative diseases and neurological disorders. Among his patients are those with fibromyalgia, chronic muscle fatigue, and Parkinson's Disease. Dr. Perlmutter is a member of the LVN SAB and fully endorses Protandim because of the elegance of the science.

Here is a quick summary of what Protandim does, an explanation of the science behind it that Dr. Perlmutter loves so much. Glutathione is one of the key antioxidants that is made naturally by your body; in fact there are two kinds of glutathione produced by your body. One kind is not as effective as the other. As you age and as you are exposed to more and more toxins in the environment, your body is damaged at the cell level and is less able to repair itself, thus making you susceptible to diseases and the effects of aging. Dr. Perlmutter said that studies have been done over the years to try and figure out how to get more glutathione into a person's body to help fight the free radicals and protect the person's cells. However, nothing, short of direct injections of glutathione, has been found effective enough. Until now...

For 40 years, Dr. Joe McCord has studied oxidative stress on the body. (oxidative stress is basically what I explained above, your cells being damaged by free radicals. think of an apple cut in half and left out on the counter. in an hour it'll turn brown. this is oxidative stress. other fruits with more antioxidants in them, like plums and pomegranates, don't experience oxidative stress as quickly because of the higher levels of antioxidants in them.) Dr. McCord found a combination of natural herbs and spices that actually UNLOCKS the CODE in your DNA that produces glutathione. And what's more, it is the more effective kind of glutathione that is unlocked. This AWESOME combination is found in Protandim.

Okay, okay, so what are we SO EXCITED about? It's this: Dr. Perlmutter has been treating his patients with glutathione. He has a new video on YouTube that shows one of these treatments used to help a man suffering from Parkinson's Disease. The 65 year-old Vietnam Veteran who was exposed to Agent Orange is only able to shuffle down the hallway and stutters as he speaks. It takes all his concentration to just be able to walk/shuffle. Dr. Perlmutter gives him a dose of glutathione intravenously. 30 minutes later, the man is walking with normal strides and talking while he is doing it! He shuffles only a little bit when he turns around.

Once again, why does this excite us?? Because Kyle's father suffers from Parkinsonism--the doctors say it is not fully Parkinson's disease. This natural supplement, Protandim, can unlock in his body the key to producing glutathione and at the very least lessen his symptoms. This gives us great hope!! Kyle's parents are both taking Protandim, so we will keep you posted on their progress.

I know it was a long explanation, so thank you for reading all of it! We are very excited for what Protandim can offer. If you'd like to know what the ingredients are, go here to our LVN website and follow this path: click on Products, click Protandim on the right side of the screen, choose Glossary in the menu below. The ingredients are natural herbs and spices that have been used for thousands of years in different cultures to treat various ailments.

I found this guy's website, Chris Gillebeau, where he posts his ideas and adventures while following an unconventional way of thinking. Pretty interesting actually. One idea of his I really liked:

Sometimes things that seem “too good to be true” actually turn out to be true. If you’re skeptical by nature, you might miss out on some of them.

- Chris Guillebeau (www.chrisguillebeau.com)

Protandim at first seemed like this to us. But it is one of those things that we have said, why not try it?? So here we are trying it. Here's to it being TRUE!
